Atletico Madrid 6-0 Marbella (8-0 agg.): Maxi Nets Four In Rojiblanco Rout
It was far too easy for the capital side...
Atletico Madrid thrashed Marbella at the Vicente Calderon to brighten their recent dark run of form and pass without incident to the Round of 16 in the Copa del Rey.
Holding a 2-0 lead from the first leg in Andalucia, there was little for the hosts to fear, but they nonetheless got the ball rolling as Jose Manuel Jurado - who has just penned a new contract - scored after 11 minutes with a wonderful header.
Five minutes later, Florent Sinama-Pongolle added a second as Jurado turned provider, and the Rojiblancos were four to the good before the interval as Maxi Rodriguez scored twice in ten minutes.
The Argentine grabbed his hat-trick just after the restart with a fine effort from the edge of the area, and Jose Antonio Reyes almost made it six shortly afterwards as the pressure continued.
But Maxi was again to star as he managed his fourth of the evening on the hour mark with a rolled finish after Reyes' pass.
