Valencia Star Pablo Hernandez 'Excited' By Spain Call-Up

He says it's a reward for his hard work at club level...

Pablo Hernandez has expressed his excitement after being called into the Spain squad for the upcoming friendlies against Argentina and Austria.

Pablo has already made his international bow with La Furia Roja, against South Africa at the Confederations Cup, but he is now hoping for more call-ups in the future.

"It's a reward for all of my work at Valencia, a prize that helps me see I am doing things well. I have to continue in this way," he told Super Deporte.

"It's the best period of my career, and I am very confident and very comfortable on the pitch. I'm helping the team to succeed in front of goal and with assists, and I hope to keep going in this way.

"This [call-up] can give me more strength to continue working and can lead to more calls in the future."

The 24-year-old pointed to his club team-mates as a reason for his success as Valencia, who now have five players in the national squad.

"For me it is an honour to play at Valencia with players like them and beside them. It is easier to get things like this call-up," he added.
