Barcelona Midfielder Seydou Keita Out Of Action For Ten Days - Report
The Malian may return in time for the trip to San Mames...
Barcelona midfielder Seydou Keita is set to be sidelined for approximately ten days after it was revealed that he has strained ligaments in his left knee, according to Sport.
Keita finished Saturday's 4-2 win over Mallorca experiencing some discomfort in his left knee and as a result underwent tests on Monday to assess the extent of the damage. Scans revealed he suffered swelling in his medial collateral ligament and will require treatment and rest in the coming days.
The injury means the 29-year-old will have to sit out Mali's final World Cup qualifier away to Ghana on Sunday but may return to action in time for Barcelona's next Primera Liga tie away to Athletic Bilbao.
So far this season Keita has been one of the Blaugrana's outstanding players in all 18 games and scoring six goals, including a hat-trick against Real Zaragoza.
Tonight's Copa del Rey clash against Cultural Leonesa at Camp Nou will be the first competitive game Keita has missed this season.
