Jesus Navas has been called up to the Spain squad for the first time for the friendlies against Argentina and Austria, though Fernando Torres has been left out.
Vicente del Bosque has named his players for the forthcoming matches, with Valencia's Pablo Hernandez also being rewarded for his good form by being included.
After working hard on his anxiety disorder, Sevilla star Navas has been called up after lengthy meetings with the Spanish Football Federation [RFEF].
Navas has previously had problems staying away with Sevilla, and has had to miss some of the club's pre-season trips within Spain because of his homesickness.
Sevilla have worked with their star and have helped him to learn to cope with his anxiety. He declared last week that he is ready to play for Spain after a meeting with RFEF sporting director Fernando Hierro.
While the winger has been named, Del Bosque has not called upon Torres to participate as it has been revealed that he needs rest to recover from a groin injury.
There are few other surprises for the high profile encounter with Argentina in Madrid at the weekend and the match against Austria in Vienna four days later.
