Sevilla Are Playing The Best They Have In Years - Villarreal Coach Ernesto Valverde
He says his side pressured for large periods of the game...
Villarreal coach Ernesto Valverde has said that Sevilla are in their best form in years after Los Nervionenses took all three points in their Primera Liga tie at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan stadium.
Valverde also said that his side dominated for large periods but the home support had a part to play getting behind their side to drive them on to victory.
Goals from Robert Pires and David Fuster had fire the Yellow Submarine ahead after a Luis Fabiano goal had given the hosts an early lead but Fabiano struck again and Frederic Kanoute grabbed the winner to claim all three points for Los Nervionenses.
"Sevilla are in their best period in several years but we tried to go out and win," he told a press conference.
"For much of the game we pressured, but in the second half, when we were level, they were all over us and then the third goal came very fast."
"Sevilla have a clear and distinctive game at home, with speedy players on the wing and good forwards. When they took the lead the fans got behind them and pushed them over the line."
