Almeria Coach Hugo Sanchez Believes Team Looked Stronger During Osasuna Victory
The former Real Madrid striker commended his players after they secured a vital home victory...
Almeria coach Hugo Sanchez expressed his satisfaction at his side’s performance as an early and late goal secured a 2-0 win over Osasuna in Andalusia this afternoon.
An early own goal gave Almeria that platform to build from, and they eventually sealed the win thanks to a Kala Uche effort in the closing moments of the clash.
The win represented only the second home win of the season for Almeria, and Mexican coach Sanchez could not hide his delight at clinching a vital result, even this early in the season.
“We managed to get an early goal in this match, and this gives us a high chance of winning,” the Real Madrid legend commented, continuing, “We were very disciplined and very compact in defence.
“We played quickly, we created many opportunities to score, and the effort was tremendous.”
Sanchez concluded that for a club like Almeria it is vital to secure wins against the sides that are likely to be around them in the table come the end of the season.
He said, “There are certain games that if you win it sets the pace of your development. Osasuna are rivals of ours and it vital to play well and win in matches like this.”
