Valverde's side will be out of the competition if they lose against the out-of-form Biancocelesti, but he doesn't want to think about that scenario.
"This game is a final because if we lose, we're out," he is quoted as saying by Marca.
"We aren't thinking about this possibility, although we know that this is a very close competition - this is a decisive match."
Davide Ballardini's side came out on top when the teams met in the Stadio Olimpico, and Valverde has warned his side that they cannot miss as many chances as they did a fortnight ago.
"We had the ball and they had the chances. Now we have to have the ball and finish off the moves, converting them into goalscoring opportunities."
