Although a gap is starting to form between the top two sides and the rest of the league, Valencia striker David Villa is unconcerned by the early dominance of Barcelona and Real Madrid.

"The league champion isn't decided by January," Villa is quoted as saying by Marca.

However, he conceded that the two sides are "pretty strong" and played down the importance of the "small crises" at both clubs, as many people are "always looking to create them".

Villa added that the league title would be decided in "the last month and a half" and that los Che would "keep working as they have done during the last four weeks and go game by game" in order to keep pace with the top two.

"If we are well positioned in this last month and a half and have a chance to win the league, we will have a great chance of being in the Champions League," he concluded.
