Osasuna: Nacho Monreal & Cesar Azpilicueta Only Go To Manchester City If Clauses Met
Mark Hughes' presence in Pamplona last weekend has led to the local club issuing a statement...
The Pamplona-based outfit responded to reports that Citizens manager Mark Hughes was in the Reyno de Navarra on Saturday to watch the duo perform.
Though no contact with Osasuna has been made, the English media has gone into overdrive with speculation that Azpilicueta, in particular, could be the subject of a January bid.
Hughes is reportedly keen to bolster his options at full-back. However, he would have to meet the players' buy-out clauses. Azpilicueta's stands at €15 million, while Monreal's is worth €12m.
"There is nothing to discuss or negotiate," Osasuna president Patxi Izco was quoted as saying by the Diario de Noticias de Navarra.
"We rely on both players and they can leave the club in January only if a club who are willing to meet their clauses comes."
Monreal made his debut for the Spain senior team this year. Azpilicueta, meanwhile, is a regular in the Under-21 side, having appeared for various age groups previously.
