Real Mallorca coach Gregorio Manzano was impressed with the intensity of the performance produced by his players, as they maintained their 100% home record with a slender 1-0 victory over Racing Santander at the ONO Stadium this afternoon.

A first half strike from Pierre Webo proved enough to move the Islanders up to 5th place in the Primera Division table and seal win number five on their own patch.

Speaking to journalists after the match, Manzano said, “We have players here who have the taste for a big game, they manage to maintain a high level of intensity.

“The team performed very well against a Racing side who were very difficult to break down, and I felt that the final result was fair.”

Manzano reserved particular adulation for Brazilian full back Felipe Mattioni, who is currently on loan from AC Milan, who made his home debut.

He said of his display, “It was very good and has increased its level that he set against Valladolid in the Copa del Rey. He almost scored a brilliant goal, and I’m very happy with him and all of his companions.”
