Real Zaragoza Coach Marcelino Praises Attitude Of Players In Almeria Win
The tactician is hopeful his players can reproduce the standard of performance that defeated Almeria...
.
Real Zaragoza coach Marcelino reckons that if his players can produce the level of attacking prowess that secured a 2-1 win over Almeria this afternoon, then his side should be in no danger of relegation come the end of the season.
Two goals in six minutes from Lafita and Ruben Pulido in the first half put Zaragoza clear and despite Juan Manuel Ortiz pulling one back, the Blanquillos held on for the win to move into a healthy 12th position in the Primera Division table.
Marcelino was delighted with the efforts of his players, and he commented to journalists after the match, “If we play with this attitude, solidarity and strength we will win many games this season. Although they [Almeria] managed to reduce the deficit I did not think that we were in danger.”
Zaragoza have made a positive return to the top flight, particularly at La Romareda, where they have only been defeated once in five matches.
However, Marcelino bemoaned injuries sustained by Roberto Ayala, Jermaine Pennant and Javier Arizmendi, and admitted that it has taken the shine from the performance and the victory.
He added, “Unfortunately for us there is never complete happiness.”
