Joaquin Caparros was thrilled to see his side prevail against Atletico Madrid, although he did bemoan the physical toll on his players.
Los Leones ran out 1-0 winners, but three of theta players suffered knocks during the game. Speaking to Marca after the game, Caparros said, "We have another game on Thursday, then Sunday, then Wednesday."
"It is costing us to compete in three competitions. The league is the most important, but we will try to progress in all of them.
"We were strong defensively, and showed our character. We were lucky with their shots against the woodwork.
"We were playing against magnificent opponents.and the two geniuses, Forlan and Aguero, nearly changed the game.
"But we competed with them very well."
