Confidence Is The Key For Real Valladolid Against Espanyol - Alberto Marcos
The captain is delighted to see his team string two wins together and hopes they can continue the run on Sunday...
Real Valladolid captain Alberto Marcos has called on his team-mates to continue their recent good form when they take on Espanyol on Sunday afternoon.
Los Pucelanos thrashed Deportivo La Coruna 4-0 in their last match in the Primera Division before beating Mallorca in the Copa del Rey in midweek, and Marcos believes that the team are reaping the benefits of a confidence boost.
"The head is the boss," Marcos explained to Marca.
"We know that when we are good, we are a tough team but we did not trust in ourselves. Now, everyone has a bit more confidence and we are taking things to heart, which is the important thing."
However, Marcos knows that Espanyol will be a difficult side to beat on their home turf.
"They have started pretty well. They are a difficult team who will do everything to score a goal, and we will have to do even better than that."
