The two sides meet at San Mames in the Primera Liga tonight and Los Leones coach also remarked that new Atleti coach Quique Flores and outgoing boss Abel Resino have a similar way of organising their teams but ultimately the winning and losing of games comes down to the players.
"We face a great team, it is true that they have not started well but they have players of very great level. At the end they will be where they should be. And the same will happen with Villarreal," he said at a press conference.
"In terms of team organisation, the work of Abel and Quique is quite similar. Football is down to the players and the team that has quality and individual technique is to be able to impose their talent. Hopefully Atletico don't show it for this game. We intend to achieve a positive outcome and to do so will need to be at a very high level throughout the game, especially on defence."
