Sacking Manuel Pellegrini Would Cost Real Madrid €11 M - Report

Should Real Madrid decide to sack under fire coach Manuel Pellegrini, it will cost them €11 million to pay out the remainder of his two year deal at the club, just three months after they paid €4 million in compensation to Villarreal to secure the Chilean's services in July of this year, according to Sport.

Pellegrini has come in for serious criticism after the performance of his side so far this season, not least the fact that they have lost three of their last five fixtures.

Following their shocking submission to Alcorcon on Tuesday night in the Copa del Rey, Madrid's hierarchy held crisis talks at the club in order to establish the options open to the club in the wake of such a demoralising defeat.

It is understood that a defeat to Getafe at the weekend will not necessarily spell the end for Pellegrini, providing his side plays with 'dignity' but a defeat to Milan next week in the UEFA Champions League could result in his dismissal.

Club president Florentino Perez is said to be disgusted with the lack of attitude from the players, which ultimately rests with the coach and a defeat in the San Siro would leave Madrid's progression to the knockout stages far from assured with two games remaining, something which would have a devastating consequences on the clubs financial forecast for the season ahead.
