Real Madrid Are No Worse Off Following Defeat To Alcorcon - Barcelona's Sergi Busquets
The young midfielder says any team can suffer a similar slip up...
Barcelona midfielder Sergi Busquets believes that rivals Real Madrid will not be weakened by their 4-0 trouncing in the Copa del Rey at the hands of Alcorcon.
"Real Madrid are no less of a rival now. A slip-up can happen to any team, Madrid is neither better nor worse today. Two weeks ago they said we were in crisis," he declared to AS.
"Alcorcon surprised me, pressured well and passed the ball well. It was a surprise. We spoke about it today and it was clear that we had to go 100 per cent, so the same would not happen to us."
The 21-year-old also spoke of his happiness at picking up the Best Breakthrough Player award for 2008/09 from the Professional Football League (LFP) earlier this week.
He added, "It is very nice - a very nice recognition. For me it is very important and I am very excited, although I would not have done it without my team-mates."
