We Need To Regroup As A Team - Atletico Madrid Coach Quique Flores
Flores says his Real Madrid history won't matter...
Atletico Madrid coach Quique Flores has insisted that his new side must regroup as a team and said that getting the team to play the way he wants will take time.
"I've found a locker room with disillusioned, disappointed players, but I come to revive a team with enough tools to be among the best in Europe," he said in an interview with AS.
"It will take time. When there is a coaching change there must be concern about doing things differently. We will try to make the most of the players, who are very good players, have a good level and I have two per position."
Flores also added that the likes of Sergio Aguero and Diego Forlan will have to contribute more to the team when Atleti don't have possession and he has already communicated his ideas to the players.
"The defence must never stop, never, up front or at the back, never stop and we have to develop pressure mechanisms and order in that regard," he declared.
"We need to regroup as a team and when we have the ball we can attack in two ways, quick movement or via counterattack. I have talked to the players about methods and various other things," he added before saying his Real Madrid past should not matter.
"I belonged to Real Madrid but I think more about Valencia and I canethrough the Vicente Calderon as a player, coach, sports analyst and they have always treated me great, respected me and respected my work," he remarked.
