Joan Laporta could not hide his pleasure after Barcelona returned to form with a domineering performance against Real Zaragoza on Sunday evening in Camp Nou.

After being beaten in the Champions League by Rubin Kazan in midweek, talk of a mini-crisis at the Catalan club was quashed with the 6-1 hammering of Los Manos.

Barcelona edged three points clear at the top of the table again and Laporta hailed the team. However, he was cautious about making any bold predictions for the season.

"We put in a perfect performance and we were clearly deserved winners," he was quoted as saying by the club's official website.

"The players were especially motivated after Tuesday's result and they showed tonight that that was just a slip up.

“There's a long way to go in the league yet. We are playing well and with the same attitude we showed last year - humility and sacrifice.

"We are on the right track."
