A superb lob late in the second half capped a fine performance from he young Argentinian as a brace from strike partner Zlatan Ibrahimovic and a hat-trick from Seydou Keita secured a fantastic victory for the champions.
"We enjoyed that a lot, especially with the outcome in our favour. It took a while, because sometimes we score in the first minute but finally I got a goal," he said afterwards according to Sport.
"I'm not tired except emotionally after the things with the national team and bad match in Valencia but I knew it was time to be calm.
Messi also said that he is grateful for the confidence shown in him by coach Pep Guardiola, saying the coach treats him like a "human being" and makes him "feel good on and off the pitch" and also thanked the team and fans for their support.
"My colleagues have always trusted me and that's what interests me and also the fans who have been with me when times were not so good and I was forgiven when things didn't go so well," he remarked.
