Manzano: Mallorca's Draw With Atletico Madrid Was More Than Fair
His only regret was that they could have won with eleven men...
Speaking to Marca after the game, Manzano said, "The game was very difficult after the first red card."
"It became even more so after the second, and seemed impossible after the penalty. The draw was more than fair, and my only doubt is what we could have achieved with eleven players.
"Despite all the adversities, my players played with merit."
Manzano then refused to dwell on the refereeing performance, continuing, "The excess of cards was damaging."
"The refereeing was unfair, but I do not want the work of this team to be overshadowed by a discussion of the officiating."
Finally, Manzano was asked for his view on Atleti's situation, to which he replied, "I have been a professional in a team as large as Atletico Madrid, that will ask why they did not dominate the game."
"I sense a lot of nerves in their camp. It is a time for them to reflect.
"The new coach will do that, but a club like this should not continue as they did today."
