Luis Fabiano & Frederic Kanoute Ruled Out Of Sevilla-Espanyol Match
Javier Chevanton is called up to los Nervionenses' matchday squad for the first time this season...
Luis Fabiano, Frederic Kanoute and Ivica Dragutinovic have all been ruled out of Sevilla's match against Espanyol at the last minute, giving coach Manolo Jimenez a selection headache.
Marca report that Luis Fabiano and Dragutinovic have both picked up viral infections, while Kanoute has not been able to shake off an injury that he picked up against Stuttgart.
As a result, Uruguayan international Javier Chevanton has been selected for the squad for the first time this season, but faces competition for a starting berth from Alvaro Negredo and Arouna Kone.
Manuel Redondo has been called up from the Sevilla reserve side to replace Dragutinovic, although he is not expected to feature at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan tonight.
Sevilla squad to face Espanyol: Javi Varas, Dani Jimenez, Konko, Sergio Sanchez, Squillaci, Lolo, Escude, Fernando Navarro, Redondo, Zokora, Duscher, Renato, Romaric, Jose Carlos, Navas, Capel, Perotti, Chevanton, Kone, Negredo.
