I Would Coach Atletico Madrid Again - Mallorca Coach Gregorio Manzano
He refuses to rule out a return to the club...
As he prepares his side to face Atletico Madrid on Saturday, Mallorca coach Gregorio Manzano has declare that he would return to coach Los Colchoneros if the right offer came along.
Manzano coached Atleti in 2003/04, finishing seventh in the Primera Liga before taking over at Malaga and eventually Mallorca and in an interview with AS he says returning to the Vicente Calderon is a possibility, just as it looks like current coach Abel Resino could be replaced in the coming days.
"Yes, why not? When there is an offer it is studied and if an agreement is reached then it goes ahead. I have nothing against Atletico Madrid on a personal level," Manzano declared.
He said that the clubs fans are very loyal an expects them to get behind the Atletico team on Saturday but he knows they will voice hteir displeasure if things don't go their way.
"They are very loyal fans and, although in some cases show displeasure when things go wrong, when the team needs them they respond. I'm sure they will put their protests to one side to help their team but if we get ahead and control the game show its displeasure," he remarked.
