Esteban Granero has looked ahead to Real Madrid's encounter with Real Valladolid on Saturday night, warning los Merengues not to be complacent.

Los Merengues picked up a 7-0 victory over Valladolid in 2007-08, which was followed up by a 2-0 win last term.

"Winning is always essential at Real Madrid if we want to achieve the goals we have set," Granero told the club's official website.

"Our objective is to win every game and the next is against Valladolid.

"We must not pay attention to what happened in previous seasons. It's a new game and we don't know what we might come up against. We will have to be focussed so that we are not surprised.

"Any team can be dangerous now, and Valladolid are a Primera Division team with excellent players. We must not become complacent."

Granero added that he thinks Real Madrid can challenge for the league title this year.

"I believe that in order to achieve consistency, you must have a firm groundwork and clear ideas, and then a full squad and a number of quality players for each position," he continued.

"We have both of these things and so we can go far in the league."
