Gerard Pique believes that he has won over any critics that questioned the wisdom of Barcelona re-signing him from Manchester United.
The central defender returned to Camp Nou in the summer of 2008 for around €6million after four years at Old Trafford and eyebrows were raised by the move.
After helping Barça win a unique treble of trophies last term with some impressive displays while earning a Spain call-up, Pique thinks that the doubters have been won over.
"When I arrived there were people who did not understand my signing," he was quoted as saying by Sport.
"But I am happy now after last season and the critics have changed their opinion."
Pique then explained that he is pleased that Real Madrid have taken the spotlight off Barcelona with their summer of spending on a new look squad.
"They have generated extra pressure with their signings and we welcome the fact that people are all talking about Madrid because we can continued with our work without being bothered," he added.
