Barca's form has won many fans and their former playmaker is enjoying what he sees...Gheorghe Hagi paid a visit to Barcelona to meet up with friends at his former club and he has hailed the current team as the side who are playing the best football in the world.
The Romanian legend featured alongside current coach Pep Guardiola at Camp Nou between 1994 and 1996 and is delighted to see his former midfield partner now in charge.
Currently working on youth football in his homeland, Hagi has been travelling to his former clubs and was pleased that Barcelona are back on form.
“I have come to see Barca because they are on tremendous form and playing very well," he told Barca TV.
“Barca play the best football, it’s attacking, and lots of people like that. They don’t just win, they also play well.
"Everyone could see that they played the best football last year and they have started this season well too."
Appointing Guardiola appeared to be a risk at the time, but Hagi thinks that it was a wise decision due to the fact that is Catalan, which gave him an immediate head start.
“It was the right decision by the board. Guardiola is a local man, who knows what it all means, and also the system and he has a lot of belief in the youngsters, which is essential for a club like Barca," he added.
