Emilio Butragueno, Real Madrid's director of Institutional Relations, has congratulated president Florentino Perez for what he has achieved over the summer after taking the reins from Ramon Calderon.
"The president has achieved something very difficult, something few people would have been able to do in so little time, which is to generate great enthusiasm," Butragueno told AS.
The former Real Madrid striker went on to say that Perez is the right man for the presidency of los Blancos, as Calderon had betrayed the values of the club despite his success.
"They won two league titles in three years, which is not bad, although they were knocked out before the quarter-finals in Europe in all three years which wasn't expected.
"Then what happened in the Assembly isn't in accordance with the club's history. Real Madrid has values, like honesty, and what happened in the Assembly was not honest."
"Florentino has a style that is consistent with Real Madrid, which will make it tough for the next person who comes in. It's very difficult to be president of Real Madrid," he concluded.
