1976: Ronaldo Luis Nazario de Lima: Brazilian striker Ronaldo is regarded by many to be one of the greatest footballers of all time. Following a successful spell at PSV Eindhoven, he joined Barcelona in 1996 and during his one season at Camp Nou managed an incredible 47 goals in 49 games in all competitions. After a five-year term at Inter, where he missed an entire season due to injury, he returned to Spain, joining Barca's greatest rivals Real Madrid, scoring 104 times in 177 appearances in five years at the Bernabeu. As well as winning two World Cups with Brazil, Ronaldo was crowned FIFA World Player Of The Year on three occasions in 1996,1997 and 2002. In 2008, after a stop-start two year spell at Milan, Ronaldo joined Corinthians in Brazil where he still plays.
1984: Henok Goitom: Swedish striker Goitom plays for Primera Division side Almeria. He first came to Spanish football in 2005, joining Ciuda de Murcia in the Segunda Division on loan from Italian side Udinese before joining Real Murcia in 2007. Goitom spent last season on loan at Real Valladolid, managing 10 goals in 29 appearances before joining Almeria during the summer.
