Inter's Ultra-Defensive Tactics Against Barcelona Says A Lot About Us - Xavi
The Blaugrana midfielder believes that his side were by far the better team against the Nerazzurri...
In the wake of their 0-0 draw against Inter last night, Xavi has revealed that he believes Barcelona did everything right against the Italian champions except put the ball in the back of the net.
"We did everything possible in order to win - we dominated, we created chances," Xavi lamented in an interview with Marca.
"We found a team that was closed up from the start of the game until the end, [they played] with a defensive system - we stuck with our tactics.
"It says a lot about Barcelona right now that a team puts eight or nine players behind the ball on their own pitch," the Spanish international continued.
The 29-year-old was clearly irritated by the Nerazzurri's tactics, taking another swipe at them as he looked ahead to Barca's weekend fixture against Atletico Madrid.
"They have made life difficult for us on a number of occasions and we always respect them, it will be a good game.
"I imagine they will be more open than Inter and with more options in attack, an attractive way to play and to watch."
