Barcelona's Bojan Krkic celebrates his double against Almeria
Barcelona's Bojan Krkic will not travel with the rest of the Spanish side to Egypt for the Under-20 World Cup because of his injury.

Sport are reporting that after Luis Milla's squad came together in Madrid today, the 19-year-old underwent a series of tests in the morning.

The two doctors that supervised the session, Jorge Guillen and Felix Fernandez, confirmed that the Barcelona forward's thigh injury, which was sustained against Sporting Gijon two weeks ago, is too serious to risk.

Pep Guardiola's team had been threatening to go to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in order to release Bojan. It is an approach that Atletico Madrid are reportedly still considering as they look to regain the services of goalkeeper Sergio Asenjo.

Meanwhile, the rest of the team began their preparatory work for the tournament, which begins on September 24. Spain's first match comes against Tahiti the following day.

The final takes place on October 16 at the Cairo International Stadium.
