Gerard Pique celebrates after he gives Spain the lead against Turkey
Gerard Pique has expressed his desire to see Spain team-mate Cesc Fabregas return to Barcelona next summer as he would only improve the Catalan team.

Rumours have been rife that the Arsenal captain will go back to Camp Nou and, after resisting the temptation this year, it is now believed that he will rejoin his boyhood club in 2010.

Playing regularly for La Seleccion has seen Fabregas and Pique become good friends and now the defender hopes that his compatriot can make the move back that he did.

Pique also left Barca as a youngster to join Manchester United but then chose to make the return journey last summer and has now become a firm favourite after the treble-winning season.

"The arrival of Cesc Fabregas at Barcelona next season would be very positive," he told Onda Cero Radio.

"I am a lover of the game and with Cesc playing in our midfield we would be even more of a world-class side."
