While Wesley Sneijder may have received his wish to remain at Real Madrid instead of being transferred to Italian champions Inter, all is not well with the former Ajax player according to his team-mate.
"He is my friend and I won't talk about this topic," Royston Drenthe told Antenna 3.
"It's very difficult for him and there are things between the club and Sneijder," he revealed.
There was reportedly an agreement in place between Real Madrid and Inter to complete the transfer last night, but Sneijder refused to fly to Milan to continue talks and the deal collapsed.
The 25-year-old arrived back in training today with a serious demeanour, and his team-mates were frequently displaying their affection towards the Dutchman to welcome him back into the fold.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka are two players that are very much in coach Manuel Pellegrini's plans, and Drenthe moved to praise the pair on how quickly they had settled in.
"It seems like Kaka has been here for four years, and Cristiano as well," he concluded.
