Real Madrid Star Cristiano Ronaldo: I Have Nothing To Prove To Anyone
Aug 26, 2009 7:14:09 AM
The Portuguese winger says he is not afraid of criticism...
Real Madrid midfielder Cristiano Ronaldo says he has "nothing to prove" and has no worries about his middling pre-season form. With the new season kicking off in three days, the 24-year-old says the whole Galacticos squad is looking forward to competitive football, which starts with an away tie against Deportivo La Coruna.
"The entire team is waiting for the start of the league, I hope things go well and we can enjoy a win at Depor," said Ronaldo, according to AS.
"I don't worry about my form. The only important thing is that Madrid win. I am calm, working hard and I am with a fantastic group."
While he sought to avoid comparisons with treble champions Barcelona, the former Manchester United superstar says that there is no pressure on Los Blancos.
"We don't think about Barcelona. We must do a good job all year and see how far we get. We have no pressure," he remarked.
