Real Madrid Intend To Keep Ezequiel Garay - Report
After much speculation, the Argentine appears set to stay at the Bernabeu...
Manuel Pellegrini appears to be counting on Ezequiel Garay for the new season, after Real Madrid rejected two approaches for him.
The Argentine defender, who is now at the Bernabeu permanently, having spent last season on loan at Racing Santander, is not thought to be a first choice at the club.
However, Los Merengues' recent refusal to sell him indicates that Garay may have a significant role to play this season. According to Sport, Espanyol inquired about his services, but were immediately knocked back.
In addition, an unnamed Italian club are set to have seen a €10million bid rejected.
Garay faces competition from Raul Albiol, Pepe and Christoph Metzelder for a place in Madrid's starting line-up this season.
