David Beckham is looking forward to Los Angeles Galaxy's match against Barcelona, although his participation remains in doubt.

Beckham is suffering from back problems and faces a late medical test to determine his fitness for the match.

Speaking to El Mundo Deportivo, he stressed the importance of the occasion, saying, "It is an honour to play against this club and these players.

"Lionel Messi is one of the best players in the world, if not the best.

"It will be a great attraction and a challenge."

The demand for the game is such that it has been shifted to the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, where in excess of 85,000 fans are expected to attend.
