Real Madrid Track Sporting’s Joao Moutinho – Report
The Portuguese youngster is reportedly on the wish-list of Manuel Pellegrini...
According to Jornal de Noticias, Joao Moutinho is high on Real Madrid coach Manuel Pellegrini's list of targets to reinforce los Blancos’ midfield sector, which still needs two new faces, according to the Chilean tactician.
The 22-year-old midfielder, a product of Sporting's youth academy, has a €22.5 million buy-out clause attached to his contract, but reports in Portugal last week indicated that his agent, Pini Zahavi, had offered the youngster's services to several Premier League outfits for just €15m.
Moutinho has never hidden his desire to play abroad and claim a better contract, and his name now looks to be a possibility for Real after negotiations for Liverpool's Xabi Alonso reached an impasse.
He was close to leaving the Jose Alvalade for Everton last summer but the Toffees could not reach an agreement with the Portuguese club and the player remained at the Lisbon-based outfit.
