New Lazio signing Eliseu has admitted that he would like to return to former club Malaga later in his career, and that his heart still lies with the Andalusian club.

The Portuguese international completed his cut-price €1m move to the Biancocelesti this week with the Italian side beating FC Twente to land the quicksilver winger. Eliseu had a successful season in La Liga last erm, helping Malaga to an expectation-exceeding 8th place finish.

Goal.com Spain reports that the 25-year old is looking forward to the challenge at his new club, but will always remain close to his former employers.

“Professionally, it is a challenge and I am looking forward to bringing my family to the capital city of Rome. I have to work hard and take my opportunity.

“Life goes on and I will always remember what I had [with Malaga], I can say I would like to return because my heart is there.”

Eliseu added that he hopes his move to Serie A will allow his career to develop and added that he believes he will become a better player as a result of the switch.

“In my career I have had to work to achieve everything. Gradually, this has bore fruit, I am aware that I am not playing with a big European club in Lazio but I do not want to stop here, I want to keep moving upwards.”
