According to Marca, the arrival of Karim Benzema at Real Madrid has all but spellt the end of Huntelaar's Bernabeu career. Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani confirmed that his club were interested in signing Huntelaar, saying, "We are determined to sign a forward, but there is still a long time to go before the transfer market closes."
"We are going to sign a great forward. Luis Fabiano and Huntelaar are options, but neither will arrive before Monday."
Both Huntelaar and Luis Fabiano are thought to be open to a move to the San Siro, and they appear to be Milan's top targets, with moves for Edin Dzeko and Emmanuel Adebayor having hit serious complications.
Huntelaar made 20 appearances since signing for Real Madrid in January, scoring eight goals.
