Eusebio: Cristiano Ronaldo Will Reign In Spain

The Portuguese legend is delighted to see CR7 swap Manchester for Madrid, insisting he will make the grade in Spain...

Portuguese legend Eusebio.
Portugal’s greatest ever player, Eusebio, has expressed his delight at Cristiano Ronaldo making the switch to Real Madrid from Manchester United, and is certain that the winger will be a massive success in Spain.

The 24-year old put the finishing touches to his protracted move to the Bernabeu for a fee of €96m, achieving a life-long ambition to play for his boyhood heroes.

Euesbio believes that the move will allow Ronaldo’s career to develop further, and Goal.com Spain reports that the Benfica legend stated, “I am very pleased, because Real Madrid is a team that I love a lot in Spain. They are the most important team in the country, just as Benfica are in Portugal and Manchester United in England.

“I am pleased that Cristiano Ronaldo has signed a contract here, and I am sure that we will succeed in Spanish football.”

In addition, when asked to describe Ronaldo’s abilities on the pitch, Eusebio found it difficult to articulate the talent that the Ballon d’Or holder possesses.

He continued, “I cannot define him [Ronaldo]. He is now the god of another world. I think this year’s Real Madrid will not have problems because at the moment he is the best player in the world.”

Ronaldo is expected to make his debut in the white of Real Madrid in the Peace Cup, which takes place in Andalusia at the end of July.
