The forward believes his side have the ability and desire to do well in Europe's biggest club competition next season...Freddy Kanoute has revealed that Sevilla will be trying to make the quarter-finals of the Champions League next year but admitted that it will be difficult to do so.
The Andalucian club are returning to the competition after a year-long absence and will be keen to impress in Europe again.
Kanoute told the official club website that, after a successful but difficult season last year, they are now aiming to improve, both in the league and in Europe.
"The challenges are the league and the Champions League. We have the desire to play in the Champions League to get as far as we can. To get to the quarter-finals will be difficult but we will be trying to get there," he mused.
Kanoute was one of the star players for Sevilla last season, producing some inspirational performances to help the side to their third place finish.
He says that now he is thinking about resting a little and then returning to action at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
"First I want to rest well and then to return and start the pre-season. It was a very difficult season and we need to rest," he explained.
