The Turkish striker will return to his former club next season...
The striker joined the Spanish club back in 2006 and played 62 matches in the Primera Division, but didn't manage to find the net regularly enough.
Indeed, last year he played 19 times for Villarreal and didn't score once, despite being on the pitch for a total of 764 minutes.
He will now be hoping that he can rediscover his form with Besiktas, who he spent four seasons with before moving to Spain.
It has not been confirmed how much the deal is worth, but it is reported that it could be around the €4 million mark, with the length of the contract believed to be three seasons.
The statement on the Villarreal website also included a message to the player, thanking him for his time with the club.
"Villarreal want to thank the player for his professional dedication and commitment in the yellow colours, and also wish him a lot of luck in his new footballing career," read the communique.
