OFFICIAL: Yaya Toure Extends Barcelona Contract Until 2012

The Ivory Coast international has agreed a new deal with Barcelona...

Yaya Toure rounded off Barcelona's 3-1 win over Mallorca with a stunning strike.
Yaya Toure has signed a contract extension with Barcelona which will see him stay with the club until 2012 at least.

The midfielder has been linked with a move away from Camp Nou this summer, but he will now stay on with the Catalan side.

The official Barcelona website has confirmed that a deal has been reached and that as well as extending his stay, it will see his buy-out clause go up from €60 million to €100 million.

Various reports state that he will also be on improved wages, although it has not been revealed how much he will be getting paid.

The agreement puts an end to weeks of speculation about Toure's future, with the midfielder reportedly close to joining his brother Kolo at Arsenal.

Yaya joined the Catalan club back in 2007 from Monaco and has since played over 50 games for them.

His presence in the midfield was a key part of the success last season and he scored the opening goal in the Copa del Rey final.
