The Brazilian wants to go back home but does not mind if he has to stay another year at Valencia and see out his deal...

Valencia midfielder Edu has revealed that he wants to go back to Corinthians and that is why his agent was holding talks with the Spanish club last week.

The Brazilian has struggled to settle at the Mestalla since joining in 2005 and a string of injury problems have hampered his chances of playing.

Now, at the age of 31 and with just one year left on his deal with Valencia, he is ready to return back to Brazil, as he explained today.

"I would like to return to Brazil and everyone knows that...I am not interested about going to a small club in Spain or going back to England," he told SportTV.

Despite his desires though Edu admitted it would "not be a problem" if he has to see out his remaining year on his Valencia contract as "both myself and my family are adapted to the city".

At the moment is thought that Edu and his brother want the club to release him from his contract but Valencia themselves are reluctant to do so.

Corinthians on the other hand are prepared to wait as they know that in six months time they will be able to negotiate with Edu and take him for free.

The Brazilian confirmed that he feels a lot of "affection" for his former club and that he watch them on television, but "it is not the same".
