Real Madrid have been told that David Silva is not for sale after Valencia officials decided that they would not allow at least one of their star players to leave this summer.

Los Che have been tipped to have let a number of their squad go in order to help ease their dire financial situation, but the new board do not appear to believe that is the case.

President Manuel Llorente is ready to play tough in order to not see Silva, David Villa or Raul Albiol leave on the cheap after all three were linked with Madrid, according to Marca.

"[Silva] is not for sale and we have not received any offers for him," the Mestalla supremo is quoted as saying by Marca.

Villa's price has been described as "prohibitive" by los Merengues' general manager Jorge Valdano in another clear indication that Valencia are preparing to fend off unwanted offers.

Chelsea have been linked with the Spain striker, while both Madrid and Barcelona have continued to ensure that their interest is known by the player and his club.

Silva is now seen as being more important to los Che though and Llorente is not prepared to at all flexible and has told Madrid's president, Florentino Perez, as much.
