Ex-Real Madrid Coach Juande Ramos Lauds Florentino Perez & Manuel Pellegrini

Juande has applauded the dawn of a new era at Los Blancos and thanked the club for giving him a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

After having personally bid farewell to Real Madrid earlier in the day, Juande Ramos showed that he held no grudges against the new Blancos regime for relieving him of his coaching role.

The man from La Mancha was in fact full of praise for president Florentino Perez as well as his successor on the bench, Manuel Pellegrini.

“I’m delighted to have met Florentino Perez. The other day, we congratulated each other before I left,” he revealed to Cadena SER.

“He is very well-advised and he surrounds himself with people who know exactly what to do.

“It is normal that when there’s an electoral process, the new chief executive will always prefer to work with his own people. That much was clear after what happened to Ramon Calderon.

“As for Pellegrini, throughout his time in Spain he has demonstrated that he is capable of coaching any team.”

Juande then went on to assess his own future, as well as the hugely eventful six months he spent at the Santiago Bernabeu.

“To coach Madrid is not something that happens very often in life. When I accepted the challenge, I knew what I was in for. But now, I leave this position and I have become even stronger,” he professed.

Madrid do not owe me anything and neither I to them. Now, I am relaxed and rested, but I need calm. At the moment, I do not have any job offers on the table.

“There have been some stories published in the press about Atletico Madrid, but no one from Atleti have approached me. There has been nothing.”
