David Villa has yet again been linked with a Valencia exit in recent weeks as the club contemplate selling their star striker to pay off their mounting debts. Real Madrid have become one of the favourites to land the 27-year-old but he has quashed the latest round of rumours, which claim that he has begun house-hunting in the Spanish capital.

“Anything can happen in football but I have a five year contract and no-one in charge of Valencia has told me that I will not be fulfilling my term,” he told La Sexta.

“God will tell me what will happen, but I neither have a house in Madrid nor am I looking for one.

“At the moment, I do not have anything and I try to invest in many different cities. But in Madrid, I have not looked at anything yet.”

Los Blancos’ president-in-waiting, Florentino Perez, is reportedly keen on signing ‘El Guaje’ in a bid to increase the number of Spanish players at the Bernabeu.
