Barcelona's Messi Rejects Record-Breaking Bid From Manchester City - Report
Manchester City have allegedly reached deep into their pockets to try to lure Leo Messi to Eastlands...
According to Marca, though, representatives from the Eastlands side have offered to buy out the Argentina starlet's contract - worth an estimated €150 million - as well as handing the forward, known for his glue-like feet, a €10 million per year contract.
Messi apparently spurned the offer immediately, opting to remain true to the Blaugrana, a side with whom he insists he would be happy to remain for the rest of his career, should he not retire in his homeland.
Marca also claim that Real Madrid and Spain icon Raul has also been the subject of an intense City bid but, like Messi, Raul rejected the chance of one last handsome payment.
According to other reports, Manchester City are also chasing Atletico Madrid duo Sergio Aguero, and Diego Forlan, together with Valencia's in-demand hotshot David Villa.
