Carlo Ancelotti And Cristiano Ronaldo On Real Madrid Agenda - Perez
Real Madrid's new era is already being envisioned as Florentino Perez alluded to certain newcomers he would like to see at the club this summer...
Florentino Perez has indicated that Carlo Ancelotti could be on his way to Real Madrid and that Cristiano Ronaldo might be on his summer agenda if he wins the club's presidential elections.
The construction magnate announced that he would be standing in the June vote in a bid to regain the Bernabeu presidency and already knows who he wants to hire as coach and what players he is considering bringing in.
Ancelotti has been tipped to leave AC Milan this summer while being linked with Madrid for the past few months and now Perez has hinted that he and the Italian club's vice-president, Adriano Galliani, would discuss things if he indeed wins the upcoming elections.
"I am very close to Adriano Galliani. He calls me when he comes to Spain and I speak to him when I am in Italy," he told reporters when asked about a new coach.
"We often talk about football and now we will have to wait and see what happens at the elections."
El Pais suggested recently that Madrid already have a deal in place to sign Ronaldo from Manchester United for €80 million and Perez intimated that he feels the Portuguese star would be a great asset.
"Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the best players in the world," he stated. "The best players in the world should play for Real Madrid."
Reports that Raul could be shunted aside might be wide of the mark, but Perez did not give the club icon and captain a ringing endorsement.
"Raul is a symbol of Madrid without a doubt. That is unquestionable. He will break all the records there are," he continued.
"We want him to stay at the club and work here when his career as a player comes to an end."
The Galactico era is said to be ushered back in under Perez, but he is not keen on the motto even though he does not dismiss the idea that his system will be reintroduced.
"I never used the word Galactico. From the players I only have heard good things about that era," he explained.
"We had a winning team that was admired around the world.
"At Madrid the best players in the world play and also help the homegrown ones to come through and that is not something that Florentino has invented.
"That is something that has happened since I was small."
