Espanyol Defender Chica Hints At Perea Revenge After Horror Blow
Luis Perea may have attempted to apologise to Javi Chica, but the Espanyol defender is not happy...
Javi Chica has revealed that he cannot forget what Luis Perea did to him during Espanyol's defeat to Atletico Madrid on Sunday and hinted that one day he will pay him back.
Chica was running towards Atletico's penalty area in the first half in the Vicente Calderon when the Colombian defender tracked back and smashed him across the face with his elbow.
While Perea was sent off, Chica was left with a swollen eye and a cut that required staples to allow him to carry on playing and he is not happy about the attack.
"When I was running through I saw that he came in meaning to do it," AS quoted him as saying.
"He apologised at the end. I can forgive him, but I cannot forget. I will play for a long time and we will meet again."
Chica believes that the incident was reminiscent of Javi Navarro's assault on Juan Arango when Sevilla played at Real Mallorca a few seasons ago.
"He hurt me. In a game you can tackle back in many ways, but not like that. This type of thing should be punished because it is not normal," the Espanyol player continued.
"It was a similar thing to what happened to Arango. The ball was on the floor and he hit me with his elbow.
"They tell me that he is a player that can suddenly lose it and it just happens that this time it was my turn."
