Injured Florent Sinama-Pongolle Misses Atletico Madrid Training

The striker is a doubt for the game with Espanyol this weekend...

Florent Sinama-Pongolle was withdrawn from Atletico Madrid training today after suffering from an injury to his right leg.

The Frenchman will now be evaluated by the medical staff but at the moment is a doubt for the game with Espanyol this weekend.

Fortunately, Marca reports that aside from Sinama-Pongolle Atletico do not have many other injuries to worry about for the game on Sunday.

Antonio Lopez trained in the gym early in the day but he soon emerged on the pitch and was doing some light jogging.

The defender missed the clash with Real Betis last weekend and Mariano Pernia is likely to stay at left-back this Sunday.

Sergio Aguero, despite being injured last week and only being able to come off the bench in Seville, trained normally and is reported to be fine.

Both Cesar Ortiz and Aitor Monroy trained with the first-team too after they were in the squad against Betis for the first time in the season.

The pair replaced Maniche and Giourkas Seitaridis, neither of whom are training, and the former of whom has now left the club after his contract was rescinded.
