Atletico Madrid President Wants Favour From Real Madrid
After helping Real Madrid to achieve their aims so many times, Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo wants a favour in return...
Atletico Madrid are hoping that Real Madrid can win this weekend and return one of the numerous favours that Los Colchoneros believe that they have done for their neighbours over the years, according to Enrique Cerezo.
Los Colchoneros' president thinks that his club's city rivals could help them with their ambition of finishing in the top four by taking all three points on their trip to Valencia this weekend.
With Atletico in fifth place, they are just one place and one point behind los Che and will be hoping that Real Madrid can bounce back with a win in the Mestalla.
"We have done them [Real Madrid] a lot of favours over the years so it wouldn't be bad at all if they gave us one back this weekend," Cerezo told El Mundo Deportivo.
"Obviously it would help us a lot if Madrid win against Valencia and if Barca do the same against Villarreal."
While hoping for Real Madrid and Barcelona to produce victories, Cerezo also recognised that for them to be of any use then his side must defeat Espanyol at the Vicente Calderon.
"We have to do our own jobs and first of all we have to win against Espanyol this Sunday," he added.
